MEETING RECAP

Regular Meeting of the City Council of Walnut Grove

01/20/2022

7:00 PM

Not much on tonight's meeting. Noted: the Walnut Grove Library was voted Georgia Library of the year.

There was a presentation of a possible new plan for parkway development. Interesting changes there in the way it would look. Presentation looks more like a lot and block concept than the "walking downtown" that was originally proposed when the parkway was conceived and built.

There was no place for public comment at the beginning of the meeting or we would have questioned about why there was no installation for the council seat to be filled by Linda Pilgrim since this would begin her new term and it was not on the agenda, however, she did participate and made motions and voted.

There was a vote to put a moratorium on rezones for 6 months. In our book, this is too little, too late.

The Special Election has been moved out to May with qualifying being April 19-22.

There was an executive session, cited Land use as the reason.
